ACLU joins lawsuit against New Jersey’s ballot design

Leaders arrange group names on the ballot in a way advocates say rigs the system.

The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey has joined a lawsuit that says the state’s ballot design is unconstitutional because it favors candidates who have the support of party bosses.
Leaders arrange and group names on the ballot in a way advocates say rigs the system.
The lawsuit was initially filed by Rep. Andy Kim. Kim is going against first lady Tammy Murphy for the senate seat held by Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.
