A Monmouth County man is facing charges, accused of dragging two Newark police officers with his car on Saturday.
Police say they initially received a phone call about a sick man in a car.
A confrontation, which was captured on an officer's body camera, took place at Charleston and Spruce streets just after 2 a.m.
As the officers approached the car, they say 30-year-old Jacob Wolski, of Aberdeen, was allegedly doing drugs.
Authorities say once the officers leaned into the car to question Wolski, he quickly pressed on the accelerator and took off, dragging the two officers several feet.
One officer suffered a minor head injury, the other officer suffered a hand injury.
Edison police arrested Wolski shortly after the incident. He was then transferred to Malboro police on an outstanding warrant.
Newark officials released the following statement: "We will not tolerate people coming into this city to buy drugs...We especially won't tolerate them injuring or disrespecting our police."
Wolski is facing a slew of charges, including aggravated assault and unlawful possession of heroin.
