Although the New York Giants and New York Jets may not be in the Super Bowl this year, some of New Jersey's most popular players will take the field… at least according to a betting site's analysis of Google searches.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the most popular NFL player in New Jersey, according to a study by BettingSites.co.uk.
The study analyzed Google search data from the past 12 months to see which players were most popular in each U.S. state. And you may be surprised that only one NFL player in the top 5 plays for a local team.
Rodgers, who was traded to the Jets in 2023, gets about 130,000 searches a month in New Jersey, the study says.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce snagged second place with almost 100,000 searches (maybe it’s the Swift effect). The Chiefs are heading to Las Vegas to face the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in a Super Bowl rematch from four years ago.
In third place, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has 65,742 Google searches in the state.
Chief's quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the fourth most popular with 50,417.
And Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow is in fifth place with 42,342 searches.
