Washington Township school bus collision leaves four students injured on first day
Four children and a driver were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle collision involving a school bus in Washington Township.
Washington Township police officers responded to the crash at approximately 8:43 a.m. Sept. 2 at the intersection of Pitman-Downer Road and Orion Way.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the school bus was crossing Pitman-Downer Road from Framingham Drive toward Orion Way when it was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Pitman-Downer Road.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Jefferson Hospital with minor injuries. Four children on board the school bus were also taken to Jefferson Hospital as a precaution for suspected minor injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
