An early morning four-alarm blaze ripped through two Clifton homes, destroying one and leaving the other uninhabitable.
Clifton Fire Chief Vincent Colavitti Jr. told News 12 New Jersey the fire broke out at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday in a two-family home on East 6th Street and quickly spread to an adjacent house.
It took firefighters from several towns about two hours to bring the fire under control.
Everyone was able to escape unharmed. It's unclear how many people were displaced by the fire.
Colavitti says four firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
