(AP) - Thirty-three alleged gang members have beenarrested in a drugs and weapons ring in northern New Jersey.
Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow says the suspects includemembers of the Brick City Brim Bloods and the MOB Piru faction ofthe Bloods. Dow says 22 of those arrested have a history ofviolence.
The nine-month operation resulted in the confiscation of nearly2,000 glassine bags and 153 grams of heroin, 41 grams of marijuanaand $13,000 in cash. Authorities say the drugs were worth $31,000.
An assault rifle, a shotgun and five handguns were also seized.
The multi-agency "Operation Orange Crush" focused on dealersin Orange and East Orange who allegedly distributed drugs in thosecities and in Newark.
