A three-alarm fire in River Edge badly damaged a home on Bogert Road.
The fire started at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the two-story home. Flames could be seen shooting out of the roof after the fire started and smoke was seen billowing out of the upper-floor windows.
Fire departments from several neighboring towns were called in to help fight the blaze. Firefighters were told to evacuate from inside the home after conditions became too dangerous. They continued to fight the fire from the outside.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control about an hour after it started.
No one was home when the fire started. There were no injuries reported.
