A second teenager was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Clifton liquor store employee, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
Owen Soltis, 18, was arrested Monday and charged with the fatal shooting of Leandro Mendoza on Oct. 16 outside the Lexington Liquors store.
Police say Mendoza and another store employee were closing the Lexington Avenue business for the night when they were approached by the teens who opened fire on them.
Mendoza was fatally wounded while the other employee sustained minor injuries.
A 17-year-old was arrested on Sunday and charged in connection with the shooting. His name was not released because of his age. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in court Tuesday morning.
Soltis is expected to appear before a judge Thursday morning. His bail has been set at $1,000,000.
