A child is being treated at a local hospital after being pulled from a swimming pool at a home in Union Sunday afternoon.
According to Union police, when officers arrived at the North 3rd Street home just before 3 p.m., they found a neighbor in the backyard performing CPR on a 5-year-old child. Police said the child had fallen into a swimming pool at the home.
“The victim was removed from the pool by the neighbor and his mother and was non-responsive,” police said in a statement.
First responders then continued life-saving efforts and transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police said the incident remains under investigation.
