The field is officially set for New Jersey’s biggest horse race of the year. The $1 million NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes returns to Monmouth Park in Oceanport on Saturday, bringing together many of the nation’s top 3-year-old thoroughbreds for one of the state’s premier summer sporting events.
The day features six stakes' races along with special guaranteed wagering pools. Fans can also enjoy free family fun day activities from 1 to 5 p.m., live music, a best hat, best dressed couple contest and more.
The race is led by multiple-stakes winner Further Ado, a horse that has been listed as the morning-line favorite. He is followed by Preakness winner Napoleon Solo and Preakness runner-up Iron Honor. They will take on four others in the annual highlight of Monmouth park's racing season.
Gates open at 9 a.m., with the first race set for noon. General admission is $15, and reserved seating starts at $5.
