Several bullets struck a home in Bergen County as gunfire rang out late Monday night.

According to Rochelle Park Police Chief Dean Pinto, dispatchers were contacted at about 10:35 p.m. by callers reporting that gunshots were fired at a home.

"Upon the patrol officers' arrival, they discovered multiple rounds had been fired at the home from a four-door sedan," Pinto told News 12.

Police did not say if anyone was in the home at the time of the shooting.

Caution tape could be seen blocking off the area over night, but the tape had been removed by early this morning.

Pinto said units from the Rochelle Park Detective Bureau, the Bergen County Sheriff's Office and Bergen County prosecutor's Office all responded along with mutual aid from the Maywood and Paramus police departments.

The case remains under investigation.
