A two-car collision over the weekend has left a Piscataway man dead and four other people injured, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.

The crash occurred in the late evening hours of Saturday in the area of Finderne Avenue near the intersection of Van Veghten Drive.

Bridgewater Police rushed to the scene at 9:41 p.m. following reports of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a collision involving a Honda and a Kia.

The driver of the Kia, a male resident of Piscataway, suffered critical injuries in the impact. He was rushed to a local trauma hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Three passengers inside the Kia—one in the front seat and two in the rear—were also transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to an area trauma hospital for treatment.

The Somerset County Collision Analysis Unit and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene to investigate alongside the Bridgewater Police.

The investigation remains active and ongoing as authorities await the final findings from the reconstruction team.
