A Hasbrouck Heights police officer is recovering after a crash early Tuesday morning at Franklin and Terrace avenues, according to the department.

Officials say the communications center received a call at 5:11 a.m. reporting the accident involving a police cruiser and another vehicle. Both drivers were alert and conscious and were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with believed non-life-threatening injuries.

A review of the officer’s dash camera shows the officer had a green light when the second vehicle failed to stop at a red light and entered the intersection.

The crash is under investigation, and summonses are expected for the other driver, a 64-year-old man from Hackensack.
