New Jersey ANCHOR payments to hit bank accounts this month
Some applicants could see funds in about a week, according to the New Jersey Department of the Treasury.
Homeowners and renters in New Jersey could start seeing ANCHOR benefits in their bank accounts sooner than expected, according to the state treasurer. Payments were originally anticipated in November, but the state is now saying some applicants could receive funds by mid-October.
According to a social media post by the New Jersey State Department of the Treasury, payments will be distributed on a rolling basis, with most applicants receiving funds about 90 days after applying, "unless additional information is needed to process the application."
Those who filed for benefits automatically will receive their payments first, according to the agency.
Last year’s payments ranged from $450 for renters to $1,500 for homeowners. More information about ANCHOR payments can be found on the state’s website. If you received an ANCHOR benefit confirmation letter in the mail, the application was already filed automatically, using last year’s information. The deadline to apply for the ANCHOR benefit for those who haven't filed automatically is Nov. 30.
