The Summit Police Department says tens of thousands of dollars were stolen from two eateries in the town.

Police say that there were burglaries at Summit Bagel and Peking Garden – both located at 529 Morris Ave.

Surveillance video shows that two people were involved in the crimes. Both suspects had their faces covered. One was seen wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, gray sweatpants, white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and black gloves. The other was wearing a blue hoodie, black backpack, black sweatpants, black sneakers and gray gloves.

Police say that the pair was able to get into Summit Bagel through two unlocked entry doors. They then climbed over a gate and stole money from the cash register and then $50,000 to $60,000 from two file cabinets.

The pair also broke into Peking Garden by forcing down the front door. They stole about $3,000 from that restaurant.

Anyone who might have information about the crimes should call Summit police at 908-273-0051.
