A 14-year-old boy died after apparently falling from a skateboard and striking his head on the pavement in Pequannock Township on Friday evening, police said.
Emergency crews responded to a report of an injured juvenile near Hopper Avenue and Woodland Court around 5:45 p.m. and found the boy suffering from a head injury.
First responders treated him at the scene before he was taken to Morristown Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police said the account of the fall is preliminary and the circumstances remain under investigation.
