Some of New Jersey’s surviving World War II veterans were invited to fly in a restored 1940s biplane Tuesday.
The program, put on by the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation, allowed the veterans to sit in the cockpit of the plane with a pilot who flew them around Sussex County.
“I enjoyed the landscape – open fields, the trees, everything’s green,” said veteran Larry Spulick. “I enjoyed it very much.”
The veterans all enjoyed a barbecue lunch after the flights.
