Hundreds of people braved the cold in downtown Goshen Thursday morning to welcome a special Wreaths Across America delivery.
The police-escorted transport carried 4,000 holiday wreaths that will be placed on graves at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery Saturday for National Wreaths Across America Day.
The nonprofit honors veterans each December by supplying the holiday wreaths at no-cost.
Orange County Veterans' Service Agency Director Christian Farrel says the tradition is a great way to remember our military heroes.
“The whole message behind Wreaths Across America is to never forget their sacrifice, and we certainly don’t do that here in Orange County. We do remember those men and women that have done so much for our country,” Farrell says.
The local delivery is among thousands nationwide in all 50 states.
