Two Woodbridge High School art teachers and the town’s mayor came up with a mural design to honor the country’s veterans.
The mural was painted by art teachers Kim Zadigian and Becky Schwartzstein with input from Mayor John McCormac.
“Mayor McCormac basically reaches out and says he wants a mural in the township,” says Zadigian. “He comes up with the concept.
“We can honor our vets,” McCormac says.
The mural features 12 different flags – an American flag, five military flags and six historical American flags. It also has the Statue of Liberty and a bald eagle.
The teachers worked six hours a day on the project for 15 days to complete it.
“It just feels really good…when people drive by, they beep,” Zadigian says.
“You knew they really like what we’re doing,” says Schwartzstein.
The mural is located on Main Street in town.
