(AP) - A woman was killed on the New Jersey Turnpike when a wrong-way driver struck her vehicle head-on.
The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of the highway near milepost 94.1 in Woodbridge.
Authorities say a 23-year-old State College, Pennsylvania man was driving the wrong way when his car struck a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Kristen Leary, of North Plainfield. She was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.
The man was hospitalized with serious injuries, but his name and further details on his condition were not disclosed.
State police say both drivers were alone in their vehicles.
No charges have been filed so far, but the crash remains under investigation.
