A woman and a 5-year-old child are recovering after being struck by a vehicle Sunday in Newark, according to officials.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Grafton Avenue and Broadway.

Officials say the woman and child were transported to University Hospital for evaluation of complaints of pain. They are both in stable condition.

The driver remained on the scene at the time of the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
