Hold on to your hats and keep a firm grip on your steering wheels tonight. The fierce wind gusts are back.
Low pressure to our north will strengthen and help keep the winds fresh through Friday. A wind advisory has been posted for the entire state, but different counties have different times. The strong winds will linger longer on Friday in the northern part of the state. Gusts can go as high as 40-50 mph. Tree branches and even whole trees can come down due to the wind. Isolated power outages are also possible.
The winds will also make it feel colder tonight and tomorrow.
Temperatures tonight will drop to near-freezing. Highs on Friday will bounce back into the low-50s and then fall sharply at night. The weekend will feature colder temperatures, but a spring-like warm-up returns next week.
No widespread rain is in the forecast, but there could be a few scattered showers over the southern half of the state overnight Friday into the pre-dawn hours of Saturday.
