Parts of I-80 have been closed since the beginning of the year due to a series of sinkholes that have formed. Officials say these holes were caused by abandoned mines located underneath the highway.
Both directions have been closed for weeks for repairs, disrupting local commerce.
Officials say it will be several more weeks before the highway can be reopened.
