Westfield High School in Westfield remains under an emergency lockdown this afternoon after suspicious writing was found on a table, according to school officials.
Students and staff are sheltering in place while the Westfield Police Department continues searching the building. Officials say everyone is safe at this time.
The district is asking families not to call or come to the school and says more information will be provided as soon as possible. Officials acknowledged the situation is stressful and thanked the community for cooperating.
