New Jets quarterback Brett Favre got his first taste of being a hometown Big Apple celebrity when he met with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg Friday.
"Time will tell, but I don't want to say 'Be patient,"' said the future Hall of Famer. "I have to get a lot done in a short amount of time. They wouldn't have signed me if they didn't think I could do that."
The metropolitan region has been buzzing since Favre, a two-time Super Bowl winner and three-time MVP, was traded to New Jersey late Wednesday. Favre was acquired from the Packers for a conditional draft pick.
Pending on the Jets' success, that draft pick could be as high as a first-rounder.
