November 2018 will be remembered as a month full of historic weather conditions.

The month started off warm, with two days hitting temperatures in the 70s. Those warm temperatures actually led to a bland foliage season this autumn. But conditions quickly grew colder and the month ended up having 21 days with below-average temperatures.

“It wasn’t the cold that bothered me, but the irregularity of the temperatures,” said Edison resident Kersi.

On Nov. 15, New Jersey saw a major snowstorm. Newark saw 6.4 inches of snow – a record for the city for that time of the year. Parts of the state saw over a foot of snow. The storm crippled the state, with gridlock on most of New Jersey’s major roadways.

Then this Thanksgiving was the coldest Thanksgiving on record with a high temperature of 29 degrees. Black Friday also saw record-breaking temperatures of 13 degrees.

In addition to the snow, New Jersey also saw a lot of rain. This month will go down as the wettest month on record for many parts of the state. Flooding could still be a concern heading into December.

Forecasters say that the first weekend of December should see temperatures in the 60s, but with the warmth comes additional rainfall.
