Communities at the Jersey Shore, such as Ocean Grove, are prepping for
Isaias, as tropical storm warnings have been issued for parts of New Jersey.
“We have a beachfront community,” says Neptune Township OEM’s Michael Bascom. “We have a riverfront community. We have inland areas where we have flooding around lakes and highways in a rain event.”
Conditions are expected to go downhill in a hurry by late Tuesday morning.
“We are watching James and everybody else and we are preparing for 50-60 mph winds tomorrow afternoon, probably 2 inches of rain, looking at anywhere from 1 to 3 feet of water on the roadways and flood-prone areas,” says Bascom.

With any tropical system, storm surge is always a threat. High tide Tuesday is 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The ocean is expected to remain dangerous for the next several days.
