Jersey Buzz: Paterson native advances to top 20 on ‘American Idol’; Latin music coming to Newark

Wé Ani moved up to "American Idol's" top 20 on Sunday night; Marco Antonio Solís will bring his world tour to Newark; and a fundraising gala at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton raised over $200,000.

Wé Ani moved up to "American Idol's" top 20 on Sunday night. The 24-year-old from Paterson sang Adele’s Oscar-winning song "Skyfall" at the end of the top 20 reveal.
Marco Antonio Solís, one of the most celebrated singers in Latin music, will pour 40 years of hits into his El Buki World Tour. The tour will make a stop at the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Also, in the Jersey Buzz – it was an exciting weekend for McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton. The preservation hall jazz band performed to a sold-out crowd as part of the evening that featured New Orleans jazz tunes. The annual fundraising gala portion of the night raised over $295,000.
