Nine high school football players are expected tofind out if their suspensions will be lifted so they can play in state title game on Saturday.
A judge in Newark yesterday upheld the suspensions of the nine Wayne Hills High School players.
The judge's finding was referred to the state's commissioner of education, who can either accept or reject the judge's findings. The commissioner has been asked to make a decision without undue delay, but legally he has 45 days to make a decision.
The players were charged with assault after a brawl at a party in October in which two students from a rival school were injured.
Attorneys claim they were punished without due process and asked that the suspensions be lifted pending the resolution of the criminal case.
Wayne Hills will play in a sectional championship game tomorrow at MetLife Stadium.
