Delays were starting to mount Wednesday at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Wind and weather caused problems with delays on arriving flights trending between 20-30 minutes from afternoon into evening.
Terminal C did have new automated security lines meant to make things go faster.
Lines at Terminal C in the morning were very busy, but slowed down to a steady stream in the afternoon at Terminal B, and picked up again in the evening at Terminal C.
By the evening, Flightaware.com had Newark at the top of a list, sometimes leading all airports in delays.
Newark had racked up 134 delays and four cancellations by 8 p.m.
By around 9 p.m., the website actually tallied over 1,400 delays for flights linked to the U.S.
There were just over 40 cancellations.
