New Brunswick city officials say that discolored water coming out of residents' faucets does not need to be boiled.
Residents in the Rutgers Village and Edgebrook neighborhoods say that their water turned brown while crews repaired a water main break in the city.
The city did say on its website that website contaminants in the drinking water were unusually high during the last rounds of tests.
Officials say that anyone who is concerned over their water should contact the water utility by calling 732-745-5052.
