Want to make $24 an hour picking up after others? One Jersey Shore town is looking for help
Point Pleasant Beach still needs
help picking up trash left behind by visitors, despite adding garbage cans
around its lots, and it is now offering $24 an hour for hired hands.
Mayor
Paul Kanitra's plea for help went out earlier this week on his social media
pages.
So far, he's had no takers.
Kanitra blames the unemployment money still coming
in to people who don't want to work
for the shortage, and it's a common theme seen affecting all beach businesses
during the spring and summer.
Leftover
trash became an issue last summer in town, and the mayor implemented a zero-tolerance
policy. But it's still not enough and they need help.
Due
to town insurance reasons, people have to be 18 or older to apply.
