Few complaints of voting problems were made in New Jersey this year, a far cry from the 2008 election.
Rutgers law professor Frank Askin says it's because not as many new voters registered this year as for last year's historic presidential election.
"When there's a lot of registration, the board of election gets overwhelmed," says Askin. "They fail to process a lot of the forms. But when voter registration is light, the forms get processed."
Fewer issues with voting machines arose as well. A number of machines in Essex, Sommerset and Gloucester counties wouldn't start up, but were replaced early this morning.
