Volunteers have come together to restore a piece of public artwork destroyed by vandals.
A local artist painted murals on concrete pipes at Puffin Park in Teaneck a few years ago, with the help of the community. The murals depict the history of the area, starting with the Native Americans.
The project took two years to complete. This past Halloween, vandals destroyed the work with graffiti.
Volunteers are now organizing a restoration effort, which they hope to start in the coming weeks.
The pipes have been at the park since the 1960s. They were left over from the construction of Routes 80 and 95.
