A vigil was held in Monroe today for a man who was killed in a hit-and-run a year ago.
Leslie Cedillo returned to the intersection where her husband, Jose Cedillo, died. She lit a candle, set out his favorite chocolates and a photo of them together, and was joined by his many coworkers who loved him.
Police say it was just before 5 a.m. on Nov. 30 when Cedillo was driving his pickup to work and made a right on Applegarth Road to get to Cooper Electric.
Police say he was in an accident, got out of the vehicle and was run down because the other driver didn’t stop.
Cedillo was pronounced dead at the scene.
His wife said she will never be able to move on until she has answers.
"They should please come forward because I don’t want to live like this anymore," said Leslie Cedillo.
Family members are hoping that anyone with information will reach out to the Monroe Police Department.
