Vietnam Veterans from Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Ramsey were given lapel pins and war medals on Friday for their service during the Vietnam War.
Bob Paoli, commander of Ridgewood's American Legion post, spoke during the ceremony.
"Monday is July Fourth, our Independence Day, and in the 18th century, patriots came forward and gave us a new nation. In the 20th century, these gentlemen up here also served. They were the patriots of the 20th century," said Rep. Josh Gottheimer.
Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who honored the veterans, says he'll work with organizations throughout his district to ensure all living Vietnam veterans get lapel pins.
