New video shows the moment a NJ Transit bus driver was punched during an assault, one of two recent attacks on transit employees reported in New Jersey.
The video comes from an incident on a NJ Transit bus in Deptford in South Jersey on Feb. 21. Transit officials said the rider refused to exit the bus at the final stop near the Deptford Mall and instead struck the driver. Police are still searching for the suspect in that incident.
Days later, a second assault unfolded on a North Jersey Coast Line train in Bradley Beach. NJ Transit officials said the incident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday during a fare dispute. Two conductors were assaulted by a passenger.
One conductor was taken to a local hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries. A second crew member was elbowed but declined medical attention.
