Volunteers from across the U.S. helped rebuild neighborhoods, including groups from North Carolina, when Superstorm Sandy made landfall in New Jersey six years ago.
Victims in the hard-hit areas at the Jersey Shore say it's time to pay it back.
In Ortley Beach to Mantoloking, and so many other communities, Sandy left the area uninhabitable for months. But now, life has returned close to normal, but it wouldn't be possible without the help of volunteers.
Some came from North Carolina.
Cleaning supplies, dog food, water, Anthony Colucci, his wife Sharon, and son Alex have gathered up boxes and boxes of supplies from others in their Ortley Beach neighborhood to send to North Carolina.
"To help payback for some of the help they gave us when we had Sandy here,” says Colucci. “They came here and helped us groups we are now going back down to give them the goods and services whatever we can help them with."
Colucci says from his experience, he knows victims in the Carolinas will need all the help they can get for many months.
