Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit
Montclair and Newark this Friday to discuss child care -- a key part of
President Joe Biden's spending bill stuck in Congress.
The proposal would provide free
pre-K for 3 and 4-year-olds, increase salaries for child care workers and lower costs of child care.
It also extends the tax
credit for people taking care of children or other dependents. The spending plan would expand and hold
down the cost of child care to make it easier for women to work outside the
home.
The vice president will also urge Americans to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
