Veterans Day events honor New Jersey’s veterans
Towns across New Jersey held events to honor the nation’s veterans.
There was a special unveiling of the Honoring All Who Have Served Memorial in Manchester. American flags, bagpipers, Boy Scouts and community leaders gathered at the World War II memorial in the Whiting section of town for the ceremony.
Ceremonies were also held in Hoboken’s Elysian Park, Woodbridge, Freehold, East Brunswick and many others.
An event in Somerville Sunday also commemorated the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
Veterans Day is observed annually on Nov. 11. It was originally known as Armistice Day and was first held in 1919.
