A tractor-trailer crashed into the woods in Manchester Township on Friday morning.
It happened at the busy intersection of County Route 539 and State Highway 70 in the Whiting area.
Police said the truck was heading east on State Highway 70 when a traffic signal turned yellow. The driver, 27-year-old Lasaun Gibson, Jr., of Camden, braked heavily, causing the truck to skid into the trees on the northeast corner of the intersection.
When police arrived at around 9:20 a.m., they found the white 2019 International Tractor and the two large Conex boxes it was towing about 50 feet into the woods.
The front end of the truck was damaged in the collision, but no other cars were involved.
Gibson was not injured and was able to remove himself from the vehicle safely, according to the Whiting Fire Company. He was wearing his seatbelt during the collision.
Police closed parts of the intersection for about two hours while they removed the truck.
