The
U.S. Honor Flag is being flown at the Spotswood Municipal Complex in tribute to fallen EMT Hinal Patel.
The flag travels all over the country and is flown to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty serving the country.
"It is a great honor to have this flag flying in honor of [Patel]," says Spotswood EMS Director Miriam Barbarise. "She did give her life doing the job she loved, and it unfortunately happened on her last day as an EMT."
Patel was responding to an emergency in East Brunswick on July 25 when a car struck the ambulance she was riding in. She died from her injuries.
The honor flag was delivered from Texas. It will fly in Patel's honor for 22 hours.
