A job fair in Union County was held Friday in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Robert Croom, director of the American Job Center, says the goal is to help the underemployed and unemployed find jobs.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says 19.1% of people with disabilities were employed last year.
"We have over 170 people registered, and today we have over 100 people who came looking for a job," says Tiana Scalle, director for the Services of Disabilities and Special Needs for Union County.
Croom says the tables were set up so job seekers could meet with potential employers. There were also computers available for people to apply for jobs online. He says some people could walk out with a job on the same day.
The next job fair will take place Nov. 3 at Newark Liberty International Airport.
