Police say an NYPD detective who was in the middle of an undercover transaction on 167th Street shot a man in the shoulder after he pulled out a gun.
The officer says 43-year-old Keith Johnson fled the scene after being shot with an alleged accomplice, 46-year-old Joe Rushing. Police say the two ended up getting stuck in traffic on the Grand Concourse, where cops were able to arrest them. They were charged with robbery and sale of a controlled substance, authorities say.
Johnson, who is visiting from North Carolina, is at Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
