Trump picks up more New Jersey votes this election than he did in 2020

That data is closely being looked at by Republicans who would like to see New Jersey become another red state.

While Donald Trump didn’t win New Jersey on his way to securing another term at the White House, he was able to pick up votes in the Garden State that he failed to win four years ago.

That data is closely being looked at by Republicans who would like to see New Jersey become another red state.

Trump took 12 of New Jersey’s 21 counties, flipping two very important counties in his favor - Morris and Gloucester. So, just as in swing states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, voters were changing their allegiance after four years.

Trump was able to grab 46% of the vote in New Jersey to Harris’ 51% this election. In 2020, Trump recorded 41% of the vote.

In Bedminster, where the former president spends substantial time at Trump National Golf Club, some were excited for the victory.

Dave Schneider is admittedly a fan of Trump, following a personal meeting with him.

“I think we’re in a good place right now. I told a lot of my friends and family, ‘Vote with your wallet,’ because the economy is the biggest thing,” Schneider said.

However, Bedminster is in Somerset County, which voted for Harris. News 12 found Lynn Taylor at a park proudly wearing her Kamala Harris T-shirt.

“Stunned, devastated,” Taylor said of the election results. “She was somebody who stood for women’s rights, where Trump is the opposite of that…I’m concerned that he himself is a criminal. And people don’t see that.”

Meanwhile, the organization New Jersey GOP says it is looking forward to future elections with this win.

In a social media post, it said it was the “strongest performance for a Republican presidential candidate in over 30 years.”
