(AP) - An Amtrak train has left Newark's PennStation after being delayed more than an hour after an elderly woman fell on the tracks.
The incident occurred at about 11:15 Thursday.
An Amtrak spokesman says the woman either fell or jumped onto the tracks as Acela train 2155 bound for Washington pulled into the station.
The woman was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
It was not immediately known if she was struck by the train.
The train departed the station at about 12:30 p.m. NJ Transit police are investigating.
