The town of Rutherford is thinking about using goats to help clear a wooded area.
The idea is to build a fence and let the goats graze on weeds and poison ivy.
Because the area is environmentally protected, officials say it's a cheaper and less intrusive solution to the problem.
There is an ordinance that prohibits private landowners from using livestock to clear land. Officials are exploring whether the ban applies to public lands as well.
