Officials: Toms River townhouse fire that hospitalized 3 ruled accidental

Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries while extinguishing the blaze.

A fire ripped through a townhouse complex Monday morning in Toms River leaving three people hospitalized.
The fire happened on Kettle Creek Road at 3:20 a.m. According to Ocean County prosecutors, investigators determined the fire was an accident and that a failure of energized electrical equipment cannot be eliminated as the cause.
Authorities say two of the victims were treated and released. The third victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for further evaluation.
