Thousands of residents across New Jersey remain without power following powerful thunderstorms Tuesday night, and for some, repairs could take a while.
More than 90,000 people
were left without power at the height of Tuesday’s storms. About 9,000 were still without power as of Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.
The storms
contained large amounts of rain, strong winds and large hailstones. Winds were
up to 60 mph in some areas. There was also lots of thunder and lightning.
The storm also impacted
transportation around the state. Heavy rains caused some localized flooding on
the roadways
