Thousands of New Jersey residents took advantage of Black Friday deals.
Cars were wrapped around the parking lot trying to get into the Menlo Park Mall on Friday.
It’s been busy since the doors opened at 6 a.m. People were ready to take advantage of the holiday deals.
The mall said they expected a larger turnout, so they increased hours and security to keep up with the crowds.
News 12 spoke to some people who spent hours in the mall. Some said it was way too hectic, while others took their time browsing.
“It’s nice to catch up with some friends, might as well get some food, do some shopping and see what happens,” said one shopper.
“It’s just fun to browse around…I'm just trying to find something for myself and trying to get some things for my daughter," said another shopper.
"The parking was absolutely insane. Almost took us 30 minutes to park, but that's expected,” said a different shopper.
What people shared with News 12 is that while they might shop online this season, they wanted to shop in person as well, especially for some items.
News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo was at the mall to see what kind of deals shoppers were able to score.
